Engine Diagnostics
Most of today’s modern vehicles are controlled electronically with onboard computers. One of the most important to be built into vehicles is the Engine Management System.
The Engine Management System controls the whole of the combustion process, making the engine more efficient and therefore producing fewer emissions than ever before.
Sensors which measure the speed and the temperature of the intake air as well as the speed and position of the crankshaft are placed throughout the vehicle. The information they gather is processed and the end result is the fuel being delivered to the engine is precisely the correct amount at any given time.
Other areas of the vehicle are also monitored, such as door and seat controls, anti-lock braking systems, lights, windows, power steering, suspension, dashboard, central locking etc.
Basically, the diagnosis will give us the area where an issue has been found.
These warnings let us know the area a problem is occurring, but it doesn’t provide the exact cause. This is where years of experience allow our mechanics to step in and pinpoint the actual cause of the issue.
